The following are just a few examples of the many venues where our technology and services are currently in use, enhancing the sites’ security posture and situational awareness.
Click on the headings below to expand.
Airports / Train Stations / Transportation
TSG digital mapping and visualization technology is currently in use at several major transportation venues, improving the safety of passengers and enabling faster, safer, more effective emergency response. Deployments include several major airports, many major train stations throughout the U.S., as well as aircraft, train cars and sea vessels. Transportation security professionals use the technology to assist them in ensuring the safety of passengers and transportation personnel and to familiarize local responder agencies and planners with a variety of sites and facilities. Public safety and security managers, antiterrorism officers, and operations managers use the technology to enhance training, enabling new security personnel to be rapidly brought up to speed, and tabletop exercises to be performed with no impact on day-to-day operations.
Power Plants
TSG technology is used on a regular basis to conduct training for new security personnel and tabletop exercises, enhancing training and speeding up required drill programs. Using the technology, personnel are able to virtually stand in and familiarize themselves with many areas that cannot be accessed under normal circumstances. In addition, a specialized TSG technology derivative is used annually to prepare and present Protective Strategy Briefings for the NRC, with great success.
Seaports
Several seaports across the U.S. have implemented our mapping and visualization technology, using it to enhance security and protect day-to-day port operations. Seaports are the livelihood of many cities, and ensuring their safety and continuity of uninterrupted operations are a matter of major concern to many state and city officials as well as law enforcement agencies. TSG technology deployments enable seaports to host regular training and tabletop exercises for the many different local responder agencies, allowing them to virtually walk through all areas and buildings of the port and familiarize themselves without impacting ongoing operations. At some ports, TSG technology has also been integrated with AIS ship-tracking data, enabling real-time information on ship locations. In addition, critical paths for common container ships have also been mapped using TSG technology, enabling responders to safely and effectively respond to emergencies aboard ships when they are docked at the port.
Large Public Venues
Many large public venues have deployed TSG technology to enhance the safety and security of visitors as well as local security and emergency responder personnel. The TSG Solution enables responders to train and familiarize themselves with facilities which may be extremely large, and provides critical information that will be essential in the event of a natural or manmade disaster. Successful deployments include several major sports stadiums, theaters, convention centers and hotels, with users including the FBI, National Guard, USMC CBIRF, NYPD and many other local law enforcement and fire protection agencies.
Nuclear Sites
TSG technology is currently deployed at several locations that store and transport nuclear materials; it is used to train responders on local procedures, familiarize them with areas that are normally inaccessible, and to aid in responding to emergencies involving nuclear materials. We have worked closely with the National Nuclear Security Agency’s (NNSA) Global Threat Reduction Initiative (GTRI) to develop custom solutions for enhancing the security of nuclear material around the country and to enhance responder and safety training operations.
Schools
TSG technology is in use at many high-risk schools in the U.S. and worldwide, enabling school administrators, onsite security personnel, and local emergency responder agencies to familiarize themselves with the school layout, location and critical information such as personnel lists and utility shutoffs, without interrupting classes. Successful deployments include a large number of schools for DoD dependents around the globe as well as higher education campuses within the continental US.
Department of Defense
TSG digital mapping and visualization technology has been deployed at hundreds of DoD sites worldwide, and is in use by the U.S. Navy, Army, Air Force, Marine Corps and The Coast Guard. DoD antiterrorism officers, security personnel and fire and military police responders use the technology to enhance safety, for force protection, to familiarize new personnel with site features and security protocols, and for training, tabletop and live exercises, among many other uses. Scope of TSG technology deployments for the DoD ranges from a small key locations such as Weapons Storage Areas and Continuity of Government sites, to entire bases including all facilities, streets and surrounding areas, to providing security for multiple ICBM sites across several states as well as VIP protection.
Federal, State and Local Government Buildings
Several local, state and national government agencies, including the Department of the Treasury, Department of Energy, NASA, and several National Laboratories have deployed the TSG technology to meet various needs and requirements, including enhancing safety and security of agency personnel and property. Customer sites include state capitol buildings, Continuity of Government sites, Office of Emergency Services sites, national department headquarters buildings, and various sites that support critical operations of our nation’s government, science and technology programs.
Offshore Oil Platforms
TSG technology has been added to the security and operations plan of an offshore oil platform and was also used in the 2008 OPLEX Oil Platform Security Exercise conducted by the US Navy’s Center for Asymmetric Warfare. The exercise was held for a multi-jurisdictional look at security on oil platforms. The TSG solution proved to be a useful tool during the exercise by all agencies including FBI, US Navy, US Coast Guard, Los Angeles County Sherriff, US Customs and Border Protection and many more.
Hotels
TSG technology is currently deployed at major hotels in the United States. These hotels are the venues for annual conventions that host high ranking officials in the military and various private organizations. The TSG Solution has been used as a means to educate all responders on the physical layout of the hotels, so that they have a better situational awareness in which to operate from. As a mutual aid tool, the TSG Solution provides law enforcement and other responder personnel an inside look at every square inch of the hotels, despite their never having been on the premises.
Museums and National Landmarks
TSG technology has also been deployed at key sites and facilities which serve as some of America’s most valuable museums and national landmarks. TSG technology was selected for these sites based on certain criteria such as potential casualties, iconic value, sociopolitical impacts, and economic impacts. The TSG solution is used for security and response force training and enables a more rapid and precise response to crisis events as a result of natural or manmade disasters. Additionally, some of these sites use the TSG technology as a visual record of historic artifacts and other valuable assets.
Dams and Bridges
TSG’s digital mapping and visualization technology has also been deployed at a variety of bridges such as vehicle, rail, and pedestrian bridges. As well, we have also provided digital mapping and visualization services for a prominent dam within the continental US. The TSG technology is used by security forces, planners, and responders to enhance situational awareness and response and training operations. Additionally, field maintenance teams and safety inspectors use the technology to assist with their inspections and other standard duties.
